B.A., LL.B
5 YEAR INTEGRATED LAW DEGREE
The Bachelor of Arts / Legum Baccalaureus (Bachelor of Laws in Latin) is a foundational dual degree programme that makes you eligible to practice law in India as a licensed advocate.
PRACTICE AREA TRAINING
In addition to the prescribed academic syllabus for the B.A., LL.B. programme, we have partnered with leading law firms and lawyers to train our students to be world-class practitioners of law. Practice areas include Dispute Resolution (civil and criminal litigation), General Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Private Equity, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Employment, Technology, Competition, Sports, Media, International Trade Law and International Human Rights. SoLJ delivers this training in collaboration with leading lawyers, law firms and civil society organizations from India and around the world.
RURAL IMMERSION PROGRAMME
All students are required to undertake a rural immersion programme (between year 1 and year 2) that is designed to help them develop an appreciation for the human, legal and social issues in India that require representation and advocacy. The objective of the rural immersion programme is to stimulate a public-spirited attitude among our graduates: so that, regardless of their personal and professional achievements on the world stage, SoLJ lawyers will always retain a spirit of compassion and concern for the voiceless.
GLOBAL IMMERSION PROGRAMME
Students who are desirous of pursuing global careers in the law will have the option of spending a summer (between Year 3 and Year 4) immersed in global internship programmes overseas, including at universities, international law firms, inter-governmental organizations and civil society organizations. The objective of the global immersion programme is to provide SoLJ students opportunities to learn from global best practices, expand perspectives and explore career paths for global impact.
