Why SoLJ?
The Bengaluru School of Law and Justice (SoLJ) is a not-for-profit law school with a mission to train public-spirited world leaders through excellence in legal education. The Bengaluru School of Law and Justice (SoLJ) has officially opened its doors for the 2026-27 academic year, following fresh approval from the Bar Council of India (BCI) and affiliation with the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU).
- BY LAWYERS FOR LAWYERS: SoLJ is a practitioner’s law school and is the only law school in India to be founded, managed and run by accomplished lawyers from all around the world. The curriculum and pedagogy are designed by leaders in the legal fraternity, including partners in leading global law firms, senior counsels, general counsels of multinational companies and leaders in civil society.
- WORLD-CLASS STUDENT EXPERIENCE: We only take 60 students each year. Our small class size and one-on-one mentorship with top lawyers in India and overseas ensures that each of our students has access to unique opportunities for internships, conference participation, moot courts, research and global careers.
- GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE: SoLJ is the first truly global law school in India. Members on the advisory board include academics and senior figures from world leading universities such as Harvard Law School, University of Oxford, Columbia University and LSE. Our leadership team has deep connections with top global law firms. SoLJ students will benefit from interacting closely with faculty and mentors from leading international law firms and organizations.

At the core of SoLJ’s academic programme is the 5-Year integrated law degree affiliated to Karnataka State Law University. We hand pick 60 exceptional students each year who demonstrate the skills, attitude, values and discipline required to undergo training at SoLJ for high impact, global careers in law.
Certificate Programmes
Students choose from a range of certificate programmes offered in association with leading global and Indian lawyers and law firms in practice areas such as public law, international law, corporate law, real estate law, intellectual property law and family law.
Professional Training
All our students participate in tailored and mandatory practical training throughout their five years at SoLJ that prepare them for meaningful careers in the law. Each student is also assigned a world leading lawyer or academic in each semester who serves as their personal mentor and career coach.
